This issue of The Sphinx highlights the events that occurred in the first half the Fraternity's Centennial Year.
In the edition, Coretta Scott King, the First Lady of the Civil Rights Movement, is remembered for continuing the legacy of Alpha Brother Martin Luther King, Jr. in opening doors for the poor and underprivileged. In a special feature and photo package, the magazine presents a chronology of Mrs. King's life, highlighting her early career, looking at her civil rights work with Dr. King and following his death, and highlighting her work to establish the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The publication also highlights the Fraternity's work with its national partner, the March of Dimes, looking at Alpha Brothers' and Chapters' participation throughout the country in WalkAmerica. Also, Brother Judge Reggie Walton who presided over the perjury case against former White House official "Scooter" Libby heads the list of Brothers who are featured in the Alphas On The Move section of the magazine.
The issue continues a new era in the history of The Sphinx.
